Emmaus spirituality centre was successfully started by (TNBC) Tamilnadu Bishop’s Council for the spiritual growth and development of the Catholics of Tamilnadu. In the presence of Late Rt. Rev . Edward Francis Bishop of Sivagangai, Rev. Fr. Peter Abir  (Present Bishop of Sultanpet) and Rev. Fr. Octavius have initiated to start this centre in the year 2003. By the grace of God and by the great help of MEP fathers they could start it in the National Highway of Chennai to Trichy. Ever since it is started, it is helping immensely the spiritual growth of Tamilnadu people by conducting various spiritual activities. At present Most. Rev. Dr. Antony Pappusamy the arch bishop of Madurai is the president of this centre and Rev. Fr. I. Francis Xavier is the director of this centre from 2016.
